πŸ‘€ About Me

My name is Sam, and my online alias for the last few years has earned me the nickname Sorrin. Either works, but you’ll see me signing off as Sorrin more often than Sam.

I will be returning to school this fall (2023) to work toward a BA in English: Creative Writing. I would love to do something relating to writing, and I am also taking a course to train me as a proofreader to work toward that goal.

This blog is my little corner of the internet where I’d like to share my honest opinions on books. I’m not a professional critic, but all of my thoughts have legitimate basis as a reader. I have criteria I make my judgements on, and it sets the overall score I rate the books listed on my Bookshelf.

I’ve loved everything to do with books since I was a kid. My first true dive into reading was in 7th grade. Our Language Arts teacher had a star-sticker chart for books read during a quarter, and I got competitive. Only one other person in the class had nearly as many stickers as I did, and we would both dip in and out of first place.

Considering that was the height of dystopian fiction, a lot of what I read at the time had a common theme.

Since then, my tastes have changed dramatically. I still read a good variety, but I’ll be honest, non-fiction and memoirs are the most difficult for me to read.

I have ADHD, so unless I can space out into my own 8-hour mental movie, it might take me months to read something.
