Review ✎ Love on the Brain

Love on the Brain is an adult romance novel written by Ali Hazelwood and published in 2022.

In an effort to not repeat myself, just pretend I’ve said everything from the beginning of my review post for The Love Hypothesis here. The science is easy to follow, the cover art is immaculate, and I am in love with Hazelwood’s writing.

The main trope of Love on the Brain is presented as being “enemies to lovers,” but it’s one-sided. It is a wonderful workplace romance, though.

I read Love on the Brain over the course of two days, and so far, this is my favorite of her books. I plan to post a general blog about how I rank Hazelwood’s books once I read Love, Theoretically, so that might change.

There are a few instances of adult content, but I did not feel that they overwhelmed or took anything away from the story. This is consistent with her books, I’ve noticed, which I find to be a strength with her writing.

Plot twists, tension, a cat that may or may not exist, and Shaggy—what’s not to love?

Love on the Brain made me laugh until I cried on more than one occasion, and the humor had incredible delivery. If I could read it for the first time again, I’d do so for the laughter.

And for Levi. He sets the bar high, and I love him for it.

Of what I enjoyed so far this year, Love on the Brain has been living in my head since the moment I started it. Usually, I tend to only read a book once, savoring the memory of the story, but I would read it again because it includes everything I love, all wrapped in a 350 page package.
